north side townhomes

2022 - In Design

When an opportunity came to purchase several clustered properties on the North Side, our Client approached us with the challenge to create compact and efficient town homes that would enhance the neighborhood, create a sense of identity for the community, and check off all the boxes on potential home buyers' lists.

Currently in design, this concept will blend a historically inspired first floor design, becoming more contemporary on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The proximity to the Mexican War Streets Historic District demands sensitivity at the pedestrian level, while affording an opportunity to add to the next chapter of this iconic neighborhood's identity.

We took advantage of the maximum buildable site area permitted by zoning, and were granted several variances due to the steep topography of the site. This allowed us to maximize the square footage and amenities for each unit.

A unique cantilevered design minimized our building footprint, thereby reducing earth disturbance and concrete use. A majority of the paving on site is pervious pavers, meaning stormwater can drain through the pavement and minimize impact to the city's stormwater system.
